Six Months for Sex with Student

(Normal, Illinois) In July 2006, a Spanish teacher at University High School, Sarah Elizabeth Dickerson, was booked into the McLean County Jail on charges that she engaged in a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old male student.

Dickerson was formally charged with five counts of criminal sexual assault and subsequently released on $5,000 bail.

This week, 26-year-old Dickerson pleaded guilty to two new counts of aggravated sexual assault with five similar charges being withdrawn in accordance with a plea agreement.

Dickerson was then sentenced to six months in jail and ordered to serve four years of probation, pay several thousand dollars in fines and register as a sex offender.
