Teacher Pinched for Smacking Girl, 12

(Brooklyn, New York) A 52-year-old special education teacher at the Halsey School in Bushwick, Gale Dragone, was hauled off to the police precinct for questioning after she was accused of smacking a 12-year-old girl with a book. The alleged assault gave the girl a bloody nose.

Dragone was charged with second-degree assault and endangering the welfare of a child. It's reported that Dragone claimed the incident was an accident.

By the way, according to the teachers union, the Halsey School is "the most out-of-control middle school in the city" and it has a history of violence.
