Woman Has Baby, Accused of Sex with Boy

(River Falls, Wisconsin) An 18-year-old local woman, Sarah Wallin, has been accused of sexual assault for allegedly engaging in sex with a 14-year-old boy. Wallin also recently gave birth to a child suspected to have been fathered by the boy.

River Falls Journal:

According to the criminal complaint, Wallin had sex with a then 14-year-old boy, in April 2006. She told River Falls police investigators she had sex with someone else other than the boy before then (who was older), but was extremely confident, even without paternity tests, the father of her daughter was the 14-year-old.

She also stated she didn't know the boy's exact age and didn't know this was a potential crime. The complaint also stated Wallin was very open, indicating she wanted to take care of the entire situation.

At the same time, she expressed a lot of fear because she didn't want to go to jail and leave her daughter alone.

When the boy was questioned, he admitted to having sex with Wallin only that one time and taking full responsibility for being the father of the baby.

Wallin didn't know that sex with a child is a crime. Really? I'm skeptical.
