Cable Kicking Broadcast Butt?

In the never-ending tug of ratings between broadcast television and the cable networks, opinions and loyalties vary but one fact seems certain. Fewer and fewer viewers are tuning in to NBC, CBS, ABC, et al., while cable mainstays Nickelodeon, TNT, USA and others are enjoying lofty perches.

Some people are firm in the belief that original programming on cable is consistently better than that shown on the broadcast networks.

All in all, ad-supported cable will double the viewership of broadcast TV in prime time this summer for the first time, 52.4 share to 24.2 share.
