Meanwhile, during the proceedings Cass County Prosecuting Attorney Victor Fitz told the court that Filbert was in a perpetual state of immaturity and the runaway 15-year-old "was not blameless." So, a 28-year-old woman with four children, who are in foster care, walks away from court after a conviction of a child sex crime and the prosecutor asserts the crime is not all her fault. Hand slap? I think so.
In the latest development in the life of Stacy Jeannette Filbert, she violated her probation by leaving the state of Michigan without notifying her probation officer. As a result, Filbert appeared once again before Judge Dodge for a sentencing hearing on Friday. During the hearing, Judge Dodge continued Filbert's previously-imposed three years of probation and, for the violation, he ordered Filbert to enhanced probation in the Kalamazoo Probation Enhancement Program.
Therefore, the court determined that regular probation wasn't sufficient and imposed an enhanced probation program. Presumably, if the enhanced program fails, the special super-duper probation program will be imposed.
Another hand slap? I think so.
