Mom Arrested for Hiding Sex Abuse of Son

(Clermont County, Ohio) Here's another story that makes me sick. A local mother, Deavan Ritchie, allegedly didn't protect her 6-year-old son.

A Clermont County mother is indicted, accused of hiding evidence in the abuse of her six year old son. The sexual abuse was so severe the child required surgery. The injuries occurred more than a year ago, but the little boy just started revealing dark secrets.

Understandably, the report of the situation comes with a warning for graphic depravity.

The little boy brought to Mercy Anderson in April 2006 had bruises, an adult bite mark, and a bleeding rectum.

Daniel Breyer, Assistant Clermont County Prosecutor: "Ultimately determined bowel had been perforated through wall causing bleeding, had to put a colostomy bag on the little guy."

The boy, his mother, and her boyfriend said the injuries happened when he fell off this plastic car. Doctors said no way ... and he was taken away from his mother and put in foster care.

Law enforcers were building a sex abuse case when it was learned that the Clermont County Department of Jobs and Family Services had sent the boy back to his mother. Authorities responded quickly by arresting Ritchie and charging her with evidence tampering. She apparently cleaned up evidence of abuse.

Expect to hear more on this case as it develops.
