In July, Marks pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute a controlled dangerous substance (cocaine). Last week, Montgomery County Circuit Court Judge Paul H. Weinstein sentenced Marks, now 27, to 18 months in jail with all but nine months suspended. According to her attorney, David Felsen, Marks will serve her time as determined by the Montgomery County Department of Correction and Rehabilitation.
Montgomery County Public Schools spokesman Kate Harrison said that Marks had resigned her teaching position last April. Also, there has been no evidence that Marks distributed drugs to students.
