Upstate NY Woman Gets Prison for Rape of Boy
(Glens Falls, New York) In June 2007, a 53-year-old Queensbury woman, Debra Mehnert, was arraigned in Glens Falls City Court on sex charges including the rape of a 13-year-old boy.
Upon learning of the sexual relationship, the boy's mother alerted the authorities. At the time, Mehnert reportedly admitted to the offenses.
Today it's reported that Mehnert pleaded guilty to felony second-degree rape. As a result, Warren County Judge John Hall sentenced her to a term of one to three years in prison. Mehnert will also be required to pay a $1,000 sex offender fee.
Despite having to pay a fee, it wasn't reported that Mehnert will be required to register as a sex offender.
[Note: Two spellings have been used in the reporting of this case -- Mehnert and Menhert. According to WhitePages.com, Mehnert is correct.]
