Woman Gets Hand Slap in Child Rape Case

(Brownsboro, Alabama) In June 2007, a 43-year-old homemaker and wife of a high school baseball coach, Lisa Webster Banholzer, was indicted by a grand jury on two counts of second-degree rape. Banholzer allegedly engaged in sex with with a minor between the ages of 12 and 15.

Banholzer was booked into custody at the Madison County Detention Center and released on bond.

Yesterday, it was reported that Banholzer will not go to trial. She has entered the North Alabama Sexual Offenders Treatment diversion program. Upon completion, all charges will be dropped. According to Assistant District Attorney Leann White, Circuit Judge Karen Hall has placed the case on an administrative docket so action on the case is suspended.

I honestly don't think a male offender would have received the same interpretation of justice in a case with similar circumstances.
