(United Kingdom) If a masked man walks into a jewelry store, the owner will call the police immediately -- right? Uh, well, not in Britain.
Police are hunting a 6ft 6in man wearing a burqa who led an armed robbery at a jewellers in Smethwick, West Midlands, on Wednesday, escaping with about £200,000 worth of gems.It would, of course, be intolerant if a masked, burqa-wearing customer or thief were denied access to establishments open to the public.
A man similarly dressed tried to rob a Securicor guard at a shopping centre in Birmingham six days earlier.
Assuming that it's the same guy in both robberies, it shouldn't be too difficult to find him since less than one percent of the population is six-foot-six.
