Rikers Guard Investigated for Tryst with Accused Cop Killer
(Rikers Island, New York) A 34-year-old Rikers Island corrections officer, Kadessha Mulgrav, is under investigation for an alleged relationship with accused cop killer Lee Woods, 29.
The investigation began after Mulgrav was caught by surveillance camera taking Woods into the showers after hours. With no cameras in the shower area, it's only suspected that they engaged in intimacy.
Other guards have also been implicated for giving Woods preferential treatment. Officials are investigating how Woods was able to obtain marijuana, cigarettes, alcohol and an illegal SIM card for a cell phone. Additionally, someone (Mulgrav is suspected) gave Woods a handcuff key which was spotted in his digestive system by a metal detector prior to a court appearance.
Woods is accused of the July 9, 2007, shooting and killing of Brooklyn Police Officer Russell Timoshenko, 23, during a traffic stop. Timoshenko and partner Herman Yan pulled over a stolen $50,000 BMW carrying Woods and two accomplices. Yan recovered from his wounds, Timoshenko did not.
