(Joliet, Illinois) Licensed practical nurse Laura Obzera, 50, pleaded guilty last Fridday to one count of aggravated sexual abuse in accordance with a plea agreement where two counts of aggravated sexual abuse were dismissed.She pleaded guilty Friday in Will County Circuit Court to a charge of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, records showed.Sentencing has been scheduled for September 29.
Bolingbrook police began investigating Obzera in early September, after being contacted by officials of the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services. DCFS workers asked police to look into "inappropriate text messages of a sexual nature" being sent between a teenage boy and an adult, later identified as Obzera, police Cmdr. Tom Ross said last year.
Police subsequently interviewed Obzera and three teenage boys. Obzera was arrested Sept. 11 and charged with three counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, one involving each of the youths. The abuse occurred in 2006, authorities said.

(Bolingbrook, Illinois) A 49-year-old school nurse at Wood Elementary School, Laura Obzera, was arrested yesterday for the alleged 2006 sexual abuse of three boys aged 13 to 17.
Obzera faces three counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse.
According to Bolingbrook Police Cmdr. Tom Ross, Obzera apparently didn't meet the boys through her job.
Obzera was arrested nine days after Bolingbrook police joined a Department of Children and Family Services inquiry into sexually charged text messages that were exchanged between an adult female and male teens, officials said. She was released Thursday on $50,000 bail.Obzera was licensed as a practical nurse (LPN) in 1982 and reportedly has a clean record.
"We knew about the sexual content of the messages, and it was through the interviews that detectives and DCFS did that led us to discover the sexual contact," Ross said.
A court appearance has been scheduled for October 2nd.
