$21K Taxes Paid in Coins
(New Albany, Indiana) A retiree hauled 400 pounds of coins in a garbage can into the Floyd County Treasurer's Office to pay his property taxes. Since it wasn't in pennies, the payment was accepted.
Frank Alford was demonstrating that he is an unhappy taxpayer, with complaints about how he was taxed excessively because he owned rental property.
Probably the true irony in this story is that, and I'm speculating, Alford voted to elect the tax and spenders into office.
