Bowl Swirlers in the Media

Check out the bad news reported recently regarding the fall of traditional media.
- National Public Radio cuts seven percent of its workforce,

- New York Times freezes wages,

- Detroit Free Press and Detroit News announce a cutback in home delivery,

- National Geographic's Green Guide, a quarterly, folded,

- Newsweek is reducing its rate base it guarantees to advertisers,

- The Tribune Company, owner of the Chicago Tribune and the Los Angeles Times, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection,

- The Minneapolis Star Tribune is cutting costs by $30 million,

- The Rocky Mountain News is for sale.
There's more but you get the idea. Many apologists are blaming the economy, almost exclusively. I would tend to disagree. The Internet is the future for journalism.
