McDonald's Threatens Strip Joint

(Edsvära, Sweden) Visitors to this southern Swedish community may not be aware of the controversy between McDragan's drive-in strip club and McDonald's restaurant chain regarding a sign. Presumably, it's business as usual at McDragan's.
Customer Intercom: "(static burst) Welcome to McDragan's. What is your order, please? (static burst)"

Customer: "Yeah, uh, I'd like a glass of vodka with a beer chaser -- and a car-side lap dance. Or, maybe two lap dances."

Customer in passenger seat: "I'd like a Singapore Sling, with the umbrella, and a Happy Strip. Oh, and extra napkins, please."

Customer Intercom: "(static burst) Okay, the drinks are 300 krona and the lap dances are 200 krona each. The Happy Strip is 100 krona. Please drive up. (static burst)"
Frivolity aside, McDonald's contends that McDragan's sign is too similar to its own logo and has demanded that the sign be taken down.
"We're going to send him a letter. In our view this is clearly a breach of our trademark," McDonald's spokesman Claes Eliasson told The Local.

But the strip tease club owner, Dragan Bratic, denied that there was any likeness.

"The sign has nothing to do with McDonald's. It is two breasts with nipples. Anyone can see that," Bratic told Swedish online newspaper GT.se.

When asked about the name McDragan's, Bratic replied that the Mc in fact stands for motorcycle and bears no relation to the Mc in McDonald's.

"I'm not Irish, I'm a Yugoslav. And I don't sell hamburgers, I sell live striptease," he insists.
McDonald's threatens legal action if the sign is not taken down. Regarding the sign's similarity to McDonald's sign, readers can decide for themselves.

As a final thought, I wonder why the sign is written in English.
