(Anaheim Hills, California) A 75-year-old urologist, Dr. Gary Rheinschild, has been accused of gross negligence in the treatment of three men in penis enlargement surgeries and the California Medical Board is contemplating disciplinary measures.
In 2003, a patient went to Rheinschild for surgery to lengthen and widen his penis. The unidentified man expressed concern about Rheinschild's age because he seemed confused. Medical staff reportedly told him Rheinschild was a bit "eccentric" but the best in the country. The man underwent surgery. When it turned out crooked and deformed, the documents allege, Rheinschild refused to correct the work.In Rheinschild's defense, he has reportedly performed hundreds of procedures without incident. Nevertheless, Rheinschild faces possible reprimand or loss of license.
In 2005, Rheinschild performed surgery on a 21-year-old from Maryland. The patient reported that Rheinschild's hands sometimes shook and he had trouble remembering information. About five weeks after the $8,000 surgery to lengthen his penis and thicken it with a skin graft, the wound burst open and the penis began to shorten and curve, the documents say. The patient asked to come to California for a follow-up and Rheinschild refused to see him. Later the patient underwent two reconstructive surgeries, the documents say.
Additionally, another patient complained of pain and a large scar after skin was taken from his lower back to increase the size of his penis. He also complained that his foreskin, which was to have been removed, was turning black.
Notably, the American Urological Association has not approved penile enhancement surgery as safe and effective. Personally, I would have a difficult time in developing confidence in any septuagenarian having steady enough hands to slice and dice Mr. Happy.
