(Lake County, Illinois) Despite earlier denials, former Grant High School teacher Kim Krocza, 41, pleaded guilty yesterday to attempted contributing to the criminal delinquency of teenage girls. She admitted to supplying marijuana and alcohol to two 14-year-old girls hired to do housework.
The contributing charge was reduced from a felony to a misdemeanor since Krocza has no prior criminal record. A charge of harassment of a witness was dropped as part of the plea agreement.
For the conviction, Krocza was sentenced by Lake County Circuit Judge James Booras to probation, a $2,000 fine and 150 hours of community service. She was also banned from teaching or having contact with anyone under the age of 17 while on probation.
Oddly, the duration of the probation is unknown. It's probably an oversight by the reporter. [Add.] According to this report, Krocza will be on probation for 24 months.
