Source: Female Deputy Hallucinated Rape Attempt

(Sacramento, California) Having claimed to be the victim of an attempted rape four years ago, a Sacramento County Sheriff's Deputy, Lisa Gargano, now says she was hallucinating. The initial call prompted a massive response by more than a dozen patrol units and an exhaustive investigation. Oddly, investigators found no evidence of a crime.

Gargano admitted she was under the influence of prescription drugs at the time of the call, the sources said, and could have hallucinated the entire episode.

Gargano, now 37 and still a sheriff's deputy, was arrested this week for driving under the influence of prescription drugs after she slammed her sports utility vehicle into a Natomas Starbucks, injuring an elderly woman and an employee. She was off duty at the time.

One has to wonder how a person taking hallucinogenic prescription drugs is allowed to drive much less carry a loaded weapon. Maybe Gargano really isn't suited to be a law officer.

Either that or the Sheriff's Department is left with a hard-to-explain "Oops!" regarding Gargano's behavior. In my estimation, Gargano needs to seek a different career path and someone should immediately take her weapon.
