CA Teacher Sentenced for Sex with Student - Updated

(Santa Ana, California) Former teacher Naomi Perez, 33, pleaded guilty yesterday to engaging in unlawful sex with a 17-year-old student.

Superior Court Judge Thomas Goethals then sentenced her to 150 days in jail and five years of probation.
Perez was accused of having an unlawful sexual relationship between June and August of 2009 with the boy she met while a teacher at Saddleback, including numerous liaisons in her home.

Perez was also accused of vandalizing the student's car on Aug. 26, 2009, after the sexual relationship ended. The victim reported the vandalism to authorities, leading to the discovery of the improper sexual relationship.
Perez was also ordered to register as a sex offender.

(Santa Ana, California) A 33-year-old teacher formerly at Saddleback High School, Naomi Perez, has been accused of engaging in sex with a 17-year-old male student.

Yesterday, Perez was charged with felony unlawful sexual intercourse, oral copulation of a minor and sexual penetration by foreign object of a minor between June and September 2007.

Detectives learned of the alleged relationship while investigating an alleged vandalism by Perez of the student's car.

Perez was booked into custody and subsequently released on $50,000 bond. Arraignment is scheduled for Monday (10/26).
