Bizarre Border Crossing

(Philipsburg, Vermont) A 19-year-old Vermonter, name not reported, barreled down the highway toward the border crossing at St. Armand-Philipsburg, Quebec, and hit a concrete stanchion which caused him to be ejected from his vehicle. The man then flew through the air and across the border into the United States.

The man's car remains in Canada. He was arrested and jailed for illegally entering the U.S.

The apparent moral of the story is that a person cannot be legally catapulted into the U.S. Transit through border checkpoints is required.
