NY Woman Sentenced for Raping Boy - Updated

(Watertown, New York) In May, 31-year-old Tammy L. Sprague pleaded guilty to third-degree rape and endangering the welfare of a child stemming from engaging in sex with a 16-year-old boy while another boy, 12, was in the same room.

As a result, Sprague was sentenced yesterday in Jefferson County Court to 10 years of probation. It's also reported that Sprague will serve an unspecified amount of time in the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building.

Sprague was also ordered to register as a Level 2 sexual offender.

(Watertown, New York) A 31-year-old local divorced mother-of-two, Tammy L. Sprague, was arrested Thursday for allegedly engaging in sex with a 16-year-old boy right next to where a 12-year-old boy was sleeping.

Sprague has been charged with third-degree rape and endangering the welfare of a child.

According to Sergeant Joseph Donoghue, Sprague had sex with the boy on March 3 and March 5 at a residence on the city's east side.

He declined to comment on whose residence it was.

Donoghue said the boy's 12 year old half-brother had been sleeping on the floor in the room and was awakened by the noise.

Sprague was booked and released on her own recognizance.
