(Mogadishu, Somalia) It appears the citizenry won't be singing anytime soon in Somalia.
Hizbul-Islam which is one of the armed rival Islamists factions in Somalia, but not as such powerful as Al-Shabab has on late on Saturday instructed that no radio station in Mogadishu can air any sort of song. […]Foreigner is apparently a pejorative term to use for people who are not brothers in Islam, like African Union troops.
In a press conference Moalim Hashi Mohammed Farah the regional boss of Hizbul-Islam in Banadir has instructed the entire radio stations operating in Mogadishu to stop airing all kinds of songs be it even a national anthem within a period of 10 days not exceeding.
On the other hand the Hashi has instructed the radio stations not to use the word foreigner for the foreigners who are fighting alongside the Islamists in Somalia, but instead should be called as migrant brother.
