Animal Rights to Privacy

(UK) An academic at the University of East Anglia, Dr. Brett Mills, has protested the filming of wild animals because it breaches their right to privacy. Mills equates the fact that animals hide from humans as a statement of their desire for privacy.

According to Mills, animals should not be filmed unless they give consent and consent can be gleaned from how the animal acts. If the animal behaves like it wants to be filmed, then one should equate it as consent.

In conclusion, an academic created a right to privacy for animals and is complaining that nobody else agrees with his arguably bizarre thinking. Of course, in time Dr. Mills may have some followers since he's from the University of East Anglia, a nesting place for scientifically-creative political thinkers.
