Las Vegas Teacher-Student Sex Case

(Las Vegas, Nevada) A 30-year-old drama teacher at Las Vegas High School, Jennifer Gardel, was arrested yesterday for allegedly engaging in sex with a 17-year-old student.
According to a source with knowledge of the arrest, Gardel is a theater teacher at the school. The source said the arrest by Clark County School District police stems from a relationship between the teacher and a 17-year-old student.
Whether the student is male or female is not known. Gardel was booked into custody at the Clark County Detention Center with bail set at $18,000.

[Add.] From a fresher report:
According to the report, Gardel, 30, initially told Clark County School District police that she only kissed the boy, who had been Gardel's student and was also part of her after-school theater technician class.

She was in love with the boy, but was waiting to have sex with him until he turned 18, she told police.

The underage student told police the relationship had been sexual, the report said. He and Gardel had sex in her home, in the sound booth of the theater and twice in her classroom, he told police.

After being interviewed a second time, Gardel told police the relationship had been sexual and described six encounters with the boy, which matched his statements to police.

The sexual relationship began in January and continued through the last week of April, the report said.

Gardel was charged with six felony counts of sexual misconduct with a student.
In a nutshell, Gardel says she was in love and could no longer wait for intimacy.
