Teacher's Asst. Admits Sex with Boy - Updated

(Urbana, Illinois) Teacher's assistant Lynette McIntyre, 45, has pleaded guilty to criminal sexual abuse in accordance with a plea agreement specifying she will serve two years of probation.

McIntyre admitted engaging in sex with a 17-year-old male student.
McIntyre will now have to undergo a sex offender evaluation and depending on what it shows, the judge will confirm or reject the plea agreement entered into by her attorney, Ed Piraino of Champaign, and Assistant State's Attorney Troy Lozar.

The attorneys agreed she should be sentenced to probation and treatment and have no contact with the teen. She'll have to register as a sex offender.
A court appearance is scheduled for February 6. Meanwhile, McIntyre has lost her job with the school district.

(Urbana, Illinois) A 44-year-old mother-of-two and teacher's assistant at Centennial High School, Lynnette McIntyre, has been accused of engaging in sex with a boy she was tutoring.

According to Assistant State’s Attorney Dan Clifton, the victim's parents found text messages of a sexual nature from McIntyre and alerted authorities.
Clifton said the teen, a student at Centennial, told police that McIntyre was to tutor him and that on at least two occasions last month picked him up at his home and drove him to her apartment. On Jan. 31, after studying, they moved to her bedroom to watch a movie. There, she allegedly performed a sex act on him.

Clifton said afterward, she sent him text messages of a sexual nature, which his parents found on the phone.

McIntyre was arrested at the high school Thursday, Clifton said.
McIntyre was booked into custody and subsequently released on $1,000 bond. A court appearance is scheduled for March 22.
