Indiana Teacher Accused of Battery

(Yorktown, Indiana) A 34-year-old language arts teacher at Yorktown Middle School, Dawn Renae Murray, was arrested this week on charges stemming from an altercation with her boyfriend.

Murray faces charges of residential entry, domestic battery with injury and criminal mischief.
According to a police report, Murray entered the house of another woman by "going through the locked front door," and then began to argue with a guest in the home, Murray's former boyfriend, Sam Marlett.

The report states that Murray then "struck Marlett in the head with a flashlight she had with her, causing injury to Marlett's forehead."

Murray, either "before or after" leaving the residence, slashed all four tires on Marlett's vehicle, authorities allege.
Murray was booked custody at the Delaware County Jail and released on $10,000 bond. It's assumed that Murray's middle school students have learned to turn their homework in on time.
