(Provo, Utah) Last month, a 35-year-old Oregon woman, Kimberly Rusgrove, pleaded guilty in accordance with a plea agreement to charges of attempted forcible sodomy and forcible sex abuse of a 15-year-old girl she had met online.
Rusgrove reportedly came to Utah, picked up the girl then left the state. Rusgrove was apprehended in Nevada and the girl was returned to her home. This week, Rusgrove was sentenced by Judge Steven Hansen to three years to life for the sodomy charge and one to 15 years in prison on the sex abuse charge.
During the sentencing, defense attorney Anthony Howell said that Rusgrove was sorry for what she had done and asked the court to impose probation rather than send her to prison.
The sentences are to run concurrently. Based on how things are run in Utah, Rusgrove will be eligible for parole in three years.
