FCC Pushes Tennis Programming

The FCC has fixed the problem of television viewers not getting enough tennis.
The Federal Communications Commission's Enforcement Bureau has told an administrative law judge that he should mandate Tennis Channel carriage on a "widely viewed" -- though not necessarily most widely penetrated -- Comcast tier and fine the cable operator the maximum for that program carriage rule violation.
Apparently, the FCC concluded that the Tennis Channel is being discriminated against so a judge has been instructed to make Comcast pay a $375,000 fine and start providing the Tennis Channel to its subscribers.

Frankly, I suggest the FCC has way too much authority if it can tell a judge what to do.

Meanwhile, I'm also thankful that the FCC can't, as yet, penalize me for not watching tennis on television. It's my arguably facetious contention that narcoleptics kept awake by soothing music or nature sounds will nod off during tennis programming.
