(Glencoe, Alabama) A 41-year-old special education teacher formerly at Big Spring Lake Kindergarten in Albertville, Suzanne Greer Johnson, faces multiple alcohol-related motor vehicle charges after plowing her van into a parked car and a coin-operated laundry last Friday.
Johnson blew a 0.338 blood alcohol level at the scene.
Johnson was charged with driving on a revoked license, driving under the influence, violating the open container law by having alcohol in her vehicle and violating her probation.Johnson was terminated from her teaching position and lost her teacher certification in 2009 after alcohol-related motor-vehicle infractions in 2008. She received a suspended sentence and probation for the earlier offenses but, now, Glencoe Municipal Judge James Shelnutt has reinstated the original sentence.
Glencoe Municipal Court Clerk Susan Casey said Johnson was on probation for a January domestic violence charge and had "lengthy history" of DUI charges in the Glencoe area.
