Illinois Educator Gets Prison in Sex Case - Updated

(Kewanee, Illinois) In accordance with a plea agreement, former teacher's aide Nicole Pinnick pleaded guilty to one count of aggravated criminal sexual abuse.

In exchange, other counts of sex assault and sex abuse were dropped.

The plea agreement was approved by Judge Ted Hamer who then sentenced Pinnick to four years in prison and imposed a $2,000 fine.
Pinnick was arrested last October after a Kewanee Police Department investigation. Police at the time said the charts alleged a “sexual relationship with a student between the ages of 13 and 18.”

Police cited the cooperation of school officials in the investigation.
Pinnick was also ordered to pay court costs and serve two years of supervised release after her sentence is completed.
