(Mount Gilead, Ohio) Yesterday, the charge of contributing to the delinquency/unruliness of a minor against teacher Sarah Hickman was dropped.
A trial was set to start Wednesday.Regarding plea deals, charges are typically reduced rather than eliminated completely.
According to family members, Hickman's charges were dropped because of a plea deal.
Hickman also was forced to resign and write an apology letter to the student, and it is recommended that Hickman lose her teaching license.

(Cardington, Ohio) A 37-year-old teacher at Cardington-Lincoln High School, Sarah Hickman, has been accused of engaging in a two-year relationship with a student.
Hickman faces a charge of contributing to the delinquency or unruliness of a child.
The teacher and the teen were not having sex, according to Charles Howland, Morrow Co. prosecutor.A court appearance is scheduled for November 30.
Court documents show the inappropriate activity was "meeting, texting, and telephoning... after receiving explicit warnings from the student's parents" to stop.
