California Teacher's Aide Gets Prison for Sex with Boys - Update

(Irvine, California) Former kindergarten teacher Nicole Ethel McMillen has been convicted and sentenced on four felony counts of lewd acts upon a child and three felony counts of oral copulation of a minor under 16 years old.

McMillen touched a 14-year-old's groin and twice had oral sex with him at her home in 2012, prosecutors said.

Youths would often spend time at McMillen's house, where they would watch movies or play video games with her children or other friends, according to the district attorney's office.

McMillen's second victim was a 16-year-old boy with whom she had a sexual relationship for more than a year starting in 2005, prosecutors said.

Irvine police uncovered McMillen's crimes after the 14-year-old told his mother about the sexual contact.

McMillen was sentenced to three years and four months in prison.

(Irvine, California) Yesterday, a 43-year-old kindergarten behavioral interventionist at Peter's Canyon Elementary School, Nicole Ethel McMillen, was convicted of sexually assaulting two teenage boys.

McMillen was arrested after the mother of the 14-year-old alerted the police.

McMillen had an ongoing sexual relationship with a 16-year-old male for more than a year beginning in 2005, according to the Orange County district attorney's office.

Prosecutors said she also had sexual contact with a 14-year-old male on multiple occasions in 2012.

At the time of the incidents, McMillen worked with kindergarten children at Peter's Canyon Elementary School and was a "behavioral interventionist" with the Tustin Unified School District, the district attorney's office said in a statement.

Prosecutors said McMillen had a "fun" home where youths spent time with her children watching movies or playing video games.

Sentencing is scheduled for Jan. 14.

(Irvine, California) A 41-year-old teacher's aide with the Tustin Unified School District, Nicole Ethel McMillen, has been accused of engaging in sexual contact with a 14-year-old boy.

McMillen faces a charge of lewd conduct with a minor.

On Saturday afternoon, the parents of the 14-year-old contacted police and alerted them to the incidents, according to a news release. Detectives worked throughout Saturday evening developing evidence to support McMillen's arrest, police said.

The investigation is ongoing and more details were not made available until the case is presented to the District Attorney's Office, the release said.

McMillen was arrested yesterday and booked into custody at the Orange County Jail with bond set at $50,000.
