Florida Teacher Accused of Child Abuse
(Fort Pierce, Florida) A 27-year-old teacher at Forest Grove Middle School, Jessica Aljure, has been accused of giving alcohol to a minor.
Aljure faces a charge of abuse of a child without great bodily harm.
According to Fort Pierce police, Aljure on Wednesday offered a ride home to a 14-year-old female student after she learned the girl had missed her bus.Aljure was booked into custody at the St. Lucie County Jail with bond set at $33,750.
On the way to the girl’s house, police claim Aljure stopped at a liquor store and bought a bottle of Seagrams 7 and a pizza. Aljure allegedly poured some of the alcohol into a 7 Up bottle and the girl asked if she could pour Seagrams into her own soda bottle.
“Aljure consented and handed the Seagrams 7 to the student, telling her ‘just a little bit,’” an arrest report stated.
At the girl’s home, the two sat in Aljure’s car for a time drinking the Seagrams, according to police.
The student’s parents told detectives the girl was acting strange, including trying to shower with her clothes, falling down and that she “appeared to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage.”
