Google Street View Prompts Lawsuit

(Maine-et-Loire, France) A 50-something man in rural northwest France has filed a lawsuit against Google for publishing a Google Street View photo of him urinating in his yard which has made him a laughingstock in the local community.
"Everyone has the right to a degree of secrecy," his lawyer, Jean-Noel Bouillard, told Reuters. "In this particular case, it's more amusing than serious. But if he'd been caught kissing a woman other than his wife, he would have had the same issue."[…]

The man thought he was hidden from view by his closed gate as he relieved himself in November 2010. But Google's lens caught him from above his gate as it passed by. Bouillard did not explain why the man chose to urinate outside.
The man seeks 10,000 euros.

[Add.] It's worth mentioning that surveillance is increasing at seemingly exponential rates. Walk into a convenience or department store and your picture is on record. Virtually every government building is monitored. Not to mention satellite images which can tell you which brand of cigarette you're not supposed to be smoking.

Cabs have cameras. Parking lots, airports and business district streets are caught on digital media. And all of it is tied through the Internet.

Whatever happened to under-the-radar? How does one get away from it all? Ideas?
