Tennessee Teacher, 29, and Female Student, 17

(Nashville, Tennessee) A 29-year-old math teacher formerly at Glencliff High School, Kyra Bryant, has been accused of engaging in sex with a 17-year-old female student.

Sexual episodes allegedly occurred at the student's home and in the classroom during school hours. Bryant faces four counts of statutory rape.

The police investigation began Feb. 8 after Glencliff officials received an anonymous letter indicating that there was a sexual relationship between Bryant and the victim.

Bryant, of 19th Avenue South, resigned from her teaching position shortly after the investigation began.

Bryant was booked into custody after surrendering to police on Friday.
