Tennessee Woman Gets No Jail in Sex Case - Updated

(Erin, Tennessee) This week, 39-year-old local woman, Tiffany A. Conwell, pleaded guilty to engaging in sex with a 16-year-old boy and to sending him indecent photos.

Conwell faced sentencing on two counts of aggravated statutory rape and nine counts of exhibition of inappropriate materials to minors.
Conwell was sentenced to four years, but jail time was suspended to probation, which will be part of a judicial diversion agreement.

Under the diversion, which a judge can grant for first-time offenders, her criminal record would be expunged if she successfully completes probation.

Among the conditions of her probation are that she be added to the state’s sex offender registry, and she is to have no contact with the victim.

She also must complete a psychosexual assessment and follow all treatment recommendations. Additionally, she must also pay for counseling the victim received and court costs.
No jail for aggravated rape is arguably lenient.

(Erin, Tennessee) A 39-year-old local woman, Tiffany A Conwell, has been accused of engaging in sex with a 16-year-old boy.

The alleged rape reportedly occurred on January 16. Conwell was indicted by a grand jury on a charge of aggravated statutory rape.
The charge is aggravated, according to the indictment, because of an age difference of more than 10 years between the victim and the alleged perpetrator.
Conwell was booked into custody at the Houston County Jail.
