Carolina Teacher Accused of Boozing Up Students

(Jacksonville, North Carolina) A 52-year-old fifth-grade teacher at Morton Elementary School, Diane Mennig, has been accused of providing alcohol to teens in her home.

Menniog faces charges of giving malt beverages to persons under 21, giving liquor to persons under 21 and overage aiding and abetting an underage person in the possession and consumption of alcoholic beverages.
Mennig is accused of giving the alcohol to about a dozen high school-age teenagers at her home on Running Road in Jacksonville.

The teenagers were from 15 to 18 years old, according to warrants.[…]

The alleged incidents reportedly occurred Nov. 18 and 19, Dec. 16 and 17, and Dec. 31, all in 2011 and Jan. 1 of this year.
Mennig was booked into custody at the Onslow County Jail.
