Pennsylvania Woman Spits on Police Officer

(Lancaster, Pennsylvania) A 21-year-old local woman, Cherish Love Ashby, has been accused of creating a drunken disturbance in public and spitting on a police officer.

Ashby faces charges of aggravated harassment by a prisoner, possession of marijuana, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness.

Ashby had a strong odor of alcohol on her breath, bloodshot glassy eyes and slurred speech, according to the complaint. She yelled, cursed and was agitated that police stopped her.

Ashby ignored several commands by officers to calm down and lower her voice, the complaint states.[…]

She spit three times on Officer Steven Reich while he was helping Officer Smith place Ashby in the back of a cruiser to take her to the police station.

Ashby was booked and released on $2,500 unsecured bail.
