Old Woman Accused of Burglary




(Torrance, California) An 82-year-old local woman, Doris Thompson, has been accused of burglarizing eight doctors' offices and stealing a total of $17,000.

Police believe Thompson visited doctors’ offices and hid inside until workers went home for the night. When the coast was clear, she would come out of hiding, search for keys, open lock boxes and remove cash, police told the newspaper.

Authorities know Thompson well. She has a rap sheet going back to 1955 and has been sent up the river nine times.

Interestingly, Thompson told detectives that she "wouldn’t do all this nonsense if the government gave us more money.”
