Oklahoma Teacher and Boy, 15

(Cherokee, Oklahoma) A 34-year-old local woman, Makayla Dawn Redding, has been accused of engaging in a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old boy.

Redding, a substitute teacher, faces two counts of lewd molestation, two counts of transmitting information by computer for purpose of instigating sexual conduct with a minor and one count of forcible sodomy.

District Attorney District 26 investigator Robert Banks was contacted Tuesday by Alfalfa County Undersheriff Dennis Frisk to assist in investigating the possible sexual abuse of a 15-year-old boy.

According to an affidavit filed in the case, Frisk said the boy’s mother had made a report about her son receiving sexual text messages from a woman she identified as Redding, who she said was a substitute teacher at Timberlake Public Schools, where her son attended. The woman was able to provide cell phone records from her cell phone provider.

Redding was booked into custody with bond set at $50,000.
