Michigan Teacher Convicted of Sex with Student - Update

A former Osceola County teacher found guilty of having a sexual relationship with her student will be sentenced next month.Brown could receive substantial prison time.
A jury found former Mecosta-Osceola Intermediate School District teacher Janet Brown guilty of two counts of criminal sexual conduct late Friday. Sentencing is scheduled for April 25.
Brown, 34, of Evart, was convicted of one count of third-degree and one count of fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct. She was found not guilty of two other counts of third-degree CSC.
The jury found Brown guilty of having a sexual relationship with a male student who attended the Ashmun School on the Eagle Village campus in Hersey. The school is run through the MOISD.
Osceola County 49th Circuit Court Judge Scott Hill-Kennedy has allowed Brown to remain free on bond until sentencing.

(Osceola County, Michigan) A 32-year-old teacher at Mescosta-Osceola Intermediate School, Janet Brown, was arrested this week for alleged sex with a 16-year-old male student.
Brown faces three counts of criminal sexual conduct.
Police say Brown was working as a teacher at the Ashmun School on the Eagle Village Youth Detention Center's campus during the time of her alleged sexual relationship with a 16-year-old male student this fall.Brown was booked and released on $5,000 bond.
The Ashmun School is a collaboration between the Mecosta-Osceola Intermediate School District and Eagle Village, which serves at-risk youth with counseling and residential treatment programs. Mecosta-Osceola teachers work full-time at Eagle Village, which is located southeast of Reed City.
