PA Educator Busted for Heroin Sales

(Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania) A 36-year-old guidance counselor who is under suspension from Central Catholic High School, Kelly M. Scherer, has been accused of selling heroin from her home.

After a long investigation, Scherer was arraigned last week on criminal conspiracy and narcotics violations.
A police affidavit shows that the owner of Ms. Scherer's apartment told police in July 2011 he thought his tenant was dealing drugs.

In September 2011, officers from Forest Hills and Wilkins conducted surveillance and saw what they believed was a drug deal involving Ms. Scherer outside her house, the affidavit said.

Police said the buyer told them a heroin dealer set up the transaction.

That same evening, officers set up an undercover buy. A Forest Hills police sergeant bought eight stamp bags of heroin from Ms. Scherer, according to the affidavit.
Scherer was booked into custody at the Allegheny County Jail with bond set $25,000.
