Kentucky Coach Completes Sentence in Student Sex Case - Update
(Falmouth, Kentucky) In September 2013, Cassandra Rose Elfers pleaded guilty to two felony charges of unlawful transaction with a minor and a misdemeanor charge of distribution of obscene material to a minor.
As a result, Elfers was sentenced to one year in prison for having sexual contact with a 13-year-old boy.
In April 2014, Elfers was released after serving only 7 months of her one year sentence. No explanation was reported.
Interestingly:
It was the misdemeanor that carried a mandatory requirement that she register as a sex offender even though the agreement between her and prosecutors would not require that.As a result, case closed.
Wednesday the “distribution” charge was changed to disorderly conduct. That charge is also a misdemeanor but does not carry the mandate to register as a sex offender.
