Georgia Woman Gets Prison for Sex with Boy, 13

(Augusta, Georgia) A 33-year-old local woman, Dana Marie Adams, has been convicted of molesting a 13-year-old boy.

A jury deliberated for seven hours before finding Adams guilty of aggravated child molestation, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and child neglect.

Adams begged the judge not to send her to prison, but the judge explained that he had no choice.

The mandatory minimum sentence for child molestation is 25 years in prison. He imposed that and added two additional years’ incarceration for the misdemeanors.

Interestingly, Adams rejected a plea deal offer which would have dropped the aggravated child molestation charge along with mandatory incarceration. Chances are she would have only been sentenced to two years.
