Iowa Woman Pinched for Meth, Child Endangerment

(Marshall County, Iowa) A 23-year-old local woman, Samantha Sanders, has been accused of multiple felony drug offenses reportedly committed in the presence of children.

Sanders faces counts of ongoing criminal conduct, neglect of a dependent person, possession of meth with intent to deliver, possession of alprazolam, possession of a prescription drug without a prescription and possession of drug paraphernalia. According to Chief Jailer Steve Hoffman,
Although Hoffman would not disclose the amount of meth Sanders is charged with attempting to traffic, court reports indicate it was less than five grams. Typically, trafficking charges arise if the amount of drug seized is over five grams or the drugs are packaged for sale.

Hoffman said police recovered various scales and other items that indicated Sanders intended to move the drugs on the street.
Sanders was booked into custody with bond set at $25,000.
