Connecticut Woman Accused of Trading Sex for Food

(Hartford, Connecticut) A 29-year-old local woman, Wilenlia David, has been arrested for trading sex with a 13-year-old girl to a Hartford store owner, Ruffino Fernandez, 55, for food.

David and Fernandez face multiple charges including sex assault of a girl less than 13 years old.
Police describe David as a friend of the girl's family.

She allegedly brought the teenager to the store and offered her for sex in exchange for food.

"The female suspect at this time, actually, would bring the daughter to the store, perhaps, with the intent of getting her food or babysitting, or taking care of her, basically the child had a trust in this woman being her age she didn't know she was a victim of these crimes," said Sgt. Glendaly Garcia, Hartford Police Department.

Police say under the deal they cut, each sex act earned David $50 worth of cash or food.
David was booked into custody with bond set at $350,000.
