(Morristown, New Jersey) A 32-year-old educator formerly at Parsippany Hills High School, Jenna Leahey, has been accused of engaging in an extended-term sexual relationship with a 16-year-old male student. Leahey teaches English and coaches field hockey.
Leahey faces counts of criminal sexual contact and child endangerment. According to Morris County Assistant Prosecutor Meg Rodriguez:
The state has “a strong case” and Leahey faces “significant charges” with “the presumption of incarceration” if she is found guilty, Rodriguez said.Leahey is in custody at the Morris County Jail with bail set at $50,000.
Investigators obtained statements from the alleged victim and Leahey admitting to what happened, Rodriguez said.
Leahey admitted to sexual activities with the boy, saying “she did in fact send text messages” to him and also sent “pictures of herself of a sexual nature,” Rodriguez said.
The pair later kissed and engaged in “mutual sexual contact” that occurred “on and off school grounds,” according to acting Prosecutor Frederic Knapp.
