Wingsuit Flying Death

(French Alps) Another fatal wingsuit 'accident' occurred this week, making three total for the week and five for the summer ... thus far.
In the latest death to hit the sport of wingsuit flying, a 41-year-old Frenchman was killed on Saturday after jumping from the summit of the Dent de l’Arclusaz (2, 041m) near the village of Saint-Pierre d’Albigny.

The alarm was raised when the man's friend, who also took part in the jump, did not see him land. The emergency services, with the help of a helicopter search team, managed to find the victim's body at around 8pm.

“It is not yet clear what exactly happened,” an officer from the French gendarmes told French media.
I know. He crashed into the side of a mountain at 150 MPH. I'm guessing the French cops are slowly investigating.

For young men there is little reward without great risk. They can no more outlaw that then they can outlaw lawbreaking? immorality? or even politically correct thought and action based on it. Besides, the state has proven that once it gains absolute power, it simply kills those of us who don't, won't, agree, but in much higher numbers. Until it kills itself or is overrun by us.

I'd give such a thing a whack, if I could afford it, even as an older guy. Even with what used to be called a lethal heart condition, if it is improving. Young at heart? Going to Burning Man in a few days, actually. First time though.
