USAF Bomber Crashes in Montana

B1B Crash Site, August 19, 2013

(Sioux Falls, South Dakota)
A B-1B bomber crashed in a remote area of southeastern Montana on Monday, but its four crew members survived after ejecting from the South Dakota-based aircraft, Air Force officials said.

Two pilots and two weapons system officers ejected before the bomber crashed about 9:30 a.m. near Broadus, Montana, said Col. Kevin Kennedy, commander of the 28th Bomb Wing. He said they were taken by ambulance and air to two South Dakota hospitals, but none of them suffered life-threatening injuries.
Makes quite a mess, eh?

Other crashes of Ellsworth B-1B bombers from KOTAtv.com

An Ellsworth B-1B crashed on the same bombing range in September 1997 (Sept. 19, 1997.) The four crew members aboard were killed. The cause of the accident was attributed to a combat maneuver that went awry causing the plane to strike the ground.

On November 17, 1988 a B1-B crashed short of the runway at Ellsworth in an early winter storm, scattering debris over a large area. The crew ejected.

And on December 12, 2001, an EAFB B-1B crashed into the Indian Ocean near the air base on the island of Diego Garcia. The crew was rescued.
