Illinois Inmate Counselor Accused of Sexual Misconduct
(St. Charles Township, Illinois) A 25-year-old substance abuse counselor at the Illinois Youth Center in St. Charles, Alexa M. Rubin, has been accused of having a sexual relationship with an inmate.
Rubin faces four counts of custodial sexual misconduct, a Class 3 felony, on accusations that she engaged in four instances of sexual activity with the same inmate.
According to the Illinois Department of Juvenile Justice, Rubin began working at the department about two and a half years ago as a contract employee through the Wells Center, which provides services to the state agency.[…]Rubin was booked into custody and released on $25,000 bail.
The Department of Juvenile Justice reported Rubin resigned from her position in June.
